   Ten years ago or so I noticed yellow crusty stains on my workout shirts from my Old Spice deodorant. Both annoyed at the damage to my workout shirts and also a bit worried about what it meant for my health to be putting that on my skin each day I started searching for a natural product.

   The transition to a natural deodorant was not easy at first. I had to let go of the anti-perspirant factor and many natural deodorants I tried stopped working partway through the day.

   Sodawax gets me through the day, doesn’t irritate my skin, goes one step further than natural with all edible ingredients (not that I plan on eating it but it makes me feel better about applying it daily), and comes in all sorts of great scents. I keep a collection of all the available scents in my drawer and pick one each morning that fits my mood and/or the day.

   Great product!

   I’m amazed, honestly.

   I’ve tried probably 10+ natural deodorant brands. I’m a sweaty, stinky gal, and not even Schmidt’s lasts more than an hour for me. :/

   I was doing some window shopping downtown in PDX, where I was born and raised. I had just gotten done book shopping at Powell’s when I walked by some cute nameless boutique selling local jewelry, dog clothes, pins, local booze, and postcards. Some tourist thing, but some of the stuff looked intriguing.

   I went in, started browsing and saw this deodorant, picked up the Logger’s Friend, sniffed it, looked at the price on the travel size, and asked the shop keep if she had heard anything about it. She said she hadn’t tried it, but her coworker had, and that they really liked it. I figured I’d give it a shot.

   So the next day when I’m getting dressed and all that, I put on the deodorant before putting on my shirt. I noticed that the scent just in the tube, compared to it being warmed up and sort of “activated”on my skin, smelled so good. I prayed to the Armpit Gods that it would work.

   And hours later, I mean a good 6 hours or so, I get home, take off my shirt (changing into comfy clothes of course), sniff my pits, and by golly, I didn’t stink AT ALL. AT. ALL.

   I’m buying more when I get paid. You guys rock.

   I have tried so many different deodorants. Sprays, salt crystals, roll-ons, sticks, gels, etc. I don’t like strong perfumy scents, so stay away from most of the big box store brands. Those all smell too strong/artificial and many cause a rash for me. (Of those Dove for Men is probably the best, but a far cry from most of the more expensive “natural” deodorants.) “Natural” deodorants aren’t necessarily a prerequisite for me. I don’t get too worked up over CHEMICALS!!! But I do prefer stuff to smell natural and not irritate my skin. And I don’t like the idea of “antiperspirant.” This generally means a deodorant marketed as natural.

   Over the years, I’ve tried so many deodorants over the years, I could open a small store. I’ve found a few that I’ve used for awhile. But eventually, they cause a rash or I get tired of the smell, or stop being effective.

   I ordered the Early Bird scent of SodaWax after reading a review of natural deodorants online. I’m so happy I did.

   The product is softer than what you may be used to, so apply it gently. Others reviewers have mentioned the coconut oil staining clothes, but I haven’t experienced that. My deodorant was shipped with a card that suggested applying and waiting a few minutes to let the oil absorb some before putting clothes on. I follow that normally – putting on deodorant first thing, then brushing teeth, then putting undershirt on. No stains for me.

   The scent is one of the best I’ve smelled. It’s pleasant, subtle, and reminiscent of a holiday dessert. While the scent does not last all day, the BO control certainly does. In fact, I’m shocked at how effective this deodorant is. I can apply in the morning, work all day (office, air conditioning), come home, work out, eat dinner, and still not stink. Not even a trace of BO. No other deodorant does that. I tested another deodorant this afternoon and was ripe after my workout. Not stinky, but definitely starting to smell. That’s acceptable performance, and what I would expect from a good deodorant.

   SodaWax exceeds my expectations. I don’t know if there is some crazy magic going with my personal body chemistry or what, but I don’t remember ever using a product where I could go all day, work out, and not even have a whiff of BO. There is no skin irritation at all, even after being left on for more than 24 hours. I convinced my wife to try SodaWax and ordered the 5-scent sampler from the company’s website. I look forward to using this product for a long time. It’s the best!
